In the past we have built a church from mud and poles, a ropes-course, a jungle gym and established a computer center. As well as leading youth groups, hospital visits, construction and general maintenance. However we find the most impact and most rewarding experiences are through the relationships formed during home-stays, where teams are able to stay with and serve rural families. Merely living as examples of the transforming power of Jesus.
Teams are exposed to different people, cultures and settings all needing the same thing...the love of Jesus Christ.
Currently we are involved with a community upliftment project at a village called Lubanzi, helping to set up and mentor micro business ventures in the tourism sector. Amongst other things we are digging long drop toilets. Which will have many positive spin offs, such as improved sanitation. Did you know that more young children die of diarrhea than HIV in rural areas.
