We are a Christian ministry whose primary focus is obedience to Gods call on our lives. The vision for Cross Country was birthed way back in ‘98. But it has taken almost 10 years for God to prepare the way (and us) for this awesome challenge. We are registered as a NGO, which means any profit we make gets pumped back into the communities we are working in, or gets used to support other missions.
VISION: • To support and encourage ministries in the Wild Coast. • To expose the Church to the bigger picture of what God is doing around the world. • To unify the body.
MISSION: • To operate in obedience to the Holy Spirit and submission to Jesus Christ. • To partner with others, so that real needs are met and the local people are equipped and empowered. • To create an environment in which our teams can experience God and be exposed to projects that will challenge them - sending them home impacted and transformed.

A TWO TIER MINISTRY
THE MISSIONARY That’s you! The person setting aside time to serve on a short term mission, while at the same time experiencing adventure travel through Southern Africa. You will form part of a team of like-minded people seeking to be part of what God is doing. Being away from routine often creates a fantastic opportunity for God to challenge and grow one. Through hands-on involvement in different ministries, you will have the opportunity to discover and refine your own gifting, while developing a more intimate relationship with God and catching the vision of the great commission.
THE COMMUNITIES We will be involved in a wide range of ministries in rural communities where we partner with existing organisations and churches. Building on the relationships that these organisations have already established and taking a holistic approach, we will be involved in various community development projects such as, building, maintenance and gardening, as well as relevant workshops, youth work, evangelism and worship. We work in the same communities in order to build relationships and offer long term support to sustainable projects.
What We Believe As our faith in God is the motivation behind our involvement in this ministry and underpins all that we do. We believe that the Bible is God's inspired and authoritative word, revealing that: • Jesus Christ is God's son; • People are created in God's image; • God created us to have a relationship with Him for eternity • The sinful nature that all mankind has is an obstacle to this relationship, but God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; • God desires all people to be saved and to know the truth; • The Holy Spirit is our counselor, guide and equips us • The Holy Spirit’s power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ's last commandment, "...Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15; NIV).
The motivation behind what we do is that we believe John 3:16 is true for everybody and, we also want to see John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”, become a reality in the body of Christ.
The Cross Country team is made up of individuals from different denominational backgrounds and the ministry is run as an interdenominational ministry. But we place high value on accountability and are therefore under the guidance of our local churches. We welcome anyone who shares the Christian faith to join our mission trips.
